Vero Beach, FL, December 20, 2018– Osceola Magnet School was just recognized by the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) for the highest percentage of Dads participation in “Dads Take Your Child to School Day.” In September, Dads, and other male-role models to students in the School District of Indian River County, were encourage to visit their student’s campus and partake in different celebrations and activities tailored just for Dads and male role models. Osceola Magnet was one of our schools that went above and beyond offering activities, “coffee talks,” breakfast, and tours. Because of Osceola’s culture of strong family involvement, and the official attendance submitted for “Dads Take Your Child to School Day,” they came out on top for the highest percentage of Dads and male role-model participation on their special day.
Superintendent Dr. Mark Rendell, said, “The high level of parent support at Osceola Magnet is a big part of what makes it such a wonderful school. This award recognizes just one example of the commitment of the parents here in partnership with us.”
