SDIRC Announces Two Positive COVID-19 Cases 10-20

Vero Beach, FL, October 20, 2020– Today, our school district received information confirming that one student at the Vero Beach High School main campus and one student at Indian River Academy tested positive for COVID-19. The Department of Health completed a case investigation and contact tracing that identified the number of individuals listed below as meeting close contact criteria with the students who tested positive. These individuals will be required to quarantine, and monitor for symptoms, prior to returning to campus. The families of the students required to quarantine have been contacted and notified of this information by individual phone calls from district officials. All families and staff members at each campus were notified by School Messenger call confirming the positive case on their campus, the number of individuals required to quarantine, and that the families of students required to quarantine had been notified. Custodial services are disinfecting and sanitizing all areas of each campus to ensure a safe and healthy environment for the return of students and staff members tomorrow, Wednesday, October 21st.
