Vero Beach, FL, October 4, 2020– Today, our school district received information confirming that one student at the Vero Beach High School main campus tested positive for COVID-19. The Department of Health completed a case investigation and contact tracing that identified twelve students and one staff member as meeting close contact criteria with the student who tested positive. These twelve students and one staff member will be required to quarantine, and monitor for symptoms, prior to returning to campus. The families of the twelve students required to quarantine have been contacted and notified of this information by individual phone calls from district officials. All Vero Beach High School families and staff members were notified by School Messenger call confirming the positive case on campus, the number of individuals required to quarantine, and that the families of students required to quarantine had been notified. Custodial services are disinfecting and sanitizing all areas of campus to ensure a safe and healthy environment for the return of students and staff members tomorrow, Monday, October 5th.
