Vero Beach, FL, September 3, 2020– Today, our school district received information confirming that one student at Sebastian River High School tested positive for COVID-19. The Department of Health completed a case investigation and contract tracing, which identified nine students as meeting close contact criteria with the student who tested positive. These nine students will be required to quarantine for 14 days, and monitor for symptoms, prior to returning to campus. The families of the nine students required to quarantine have been contacted and notified of this information by individual phone calls from district officials. All Sebastian River High School families and staff members were notified by School Messenger call confirming the positive case on campus, the number of individuals required to quarantine, and that the families of students required to quarantine had been notified. Custodial services are disinfecting and sanitizing all areas of campus to ensure a safe and healthy environment for the return of students and staff members tomorrow, Friday, September 4th.
