SDIRC Announces Positive COVID-19 Case at VBHS FLC

Vero Beach, FL, October 14, 2020– Today, our school district received information confirming that one student at the Vero Beach High School Freshman Learning Center tested positive for COVID-19. The Department of Health completed a case investigation and contact tracing that identified 32 students as meeting close contact criteria with the student who tested positive. These students will be required to quarantine, and monitor for symptoms, prior to returning to campus. Students required to quarantine have been contacted and notified of this information by individual phone calls from district officials. All Vero Beach High School students and staff members were notified of the positive case on campus, the number of individuals required to quarantine, and that the individuals required to quarantine had been notified. Custodial services are disinfecting and sanitizing all areas of campus to ensure a safe and healthy environment for the return of students and staff members on Thursday, October 15th.
