SDIRC Announces Positive COVID-19 Case at VBHS 9-22

Vero Beach, FL, September 22, 2020– Our school district has received information confirming that one student at Vero Beach High School tested positive for COVID-19. The Department of Health completed a case investigation and contact tracing, which identified 35 students as meeting close contact criteria with the student who tested positive. These 35 students will be required to quarantine, and monitor for symptoms, prior to returning to campus. The families of the 35 students required to quarantine have been contacted and notified of this information by individual phone calls from district officials. All Vero Beach High School families and staff members were notified by School Messenger call confirming the positive case on campus, the number of individuals required to quarantine, and that the families of students required to quarantine had been notified. Custodial services are disinfecting and sanitizing all areas of campus to ensure a safe and healthy environment for the return of students and staff members tomorrow, Wednesday, September 23rd.
