SDIRC Announces Positive COVID-19 at Dodgertown Elementary School

Vero Beach, FL, September 17, 2020– Today, our school district received information confirming that one student at Dodgertown Elementary School tested positive for COVID-19. The Department of Health completed a case investigation and contact tracing that identified twelve students as meeting close contact criteria with the student who tested positive. These twelve students will be required to quarantine, and monitor for symptoms, prior to returning to campus. The families of the twelve students required to quarantine have been contacted and notified of this information by individual phone calls from district officials. All Dodgertown Elementary School families and staff members were notified by School Messenger call confirming the positive case on campus, the number of individuals required to quarantine, and that the families of students required to quarantine had been notified. Custodial services are disinfecting and sanitizing all areas of campus to ensure a safe and healthy environment for the return of students and staff members on Friday, September 18th.
