SDIRC Students Produce Amazing Results In State Science Fair

Vero Beach, FL, April 3, 2018—The School District of Indian River County (SDIRC) is proud to highlight our students who participated in the 63rd State of Florida Science & Engineering Fair on March 27th – 29th at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland, Florida. Students participating in the state science fair received their state bids by first participating, and placing, in the Indian River Regional Science and Engineering Fair (IRRSEF) on January 27, 2018, at Gifford Middle School. The IRRSEF is presented by the Education Foundation of Indian River County, in partnership, with the School District of Indian River County. The program is funded by grants and private donations.

SDIRC School Board Chairman, Shawn Frost, said, “It is so exciting to see the hard work of our teachers and students being recognized at such a high level. Both as a former science teacher and the Board Chair, it makes me proud to be part of a community that places such support and emphasis on achievement in science. These eight SDIRC students have made Indian River County proud with their dedication and accomplishments. The District is appreciative of our rare synergistic relationship with the Education Foundation and the work we do together for the benefit of our students.”

Cynthia Falardeau, Executive Director of The Education Foundation of Indian River County, stated, “We are proud of this team that worked hard to advance from the Indian River Regional Science & Engineering Fair, representing the top 1% of students in the State of Florida.”
