Commissioner of Education Recognizes SDIRC Business Partners

Community Credit Union and Napier & Rollin, PLLC were recognized at the Commissioner’s Business Recognition Awards

Vero Beach, FL, June 26, 2018– The 2018 Commissioner’s Business Recognition Awards (CBRA), presented by Wells Fargo, were presented during the Florida Chamber Foundation’s Annual Education Summit on June 13, 2018, at the Renaissance Tampa International Plaza Hotel in Tampa, Florida. The School District of Indian River County (SDIRC) nominated two of our extraordinary business partners, Community Credit Union and Napier & Rollin, PLLC, Attorneys at Law, to be recognized in front of a broad audience of statewide business leaders. Superintendent, Dr. Mark Rendell, accompanied Deborah Blair, Education Program Director Community Credit Union, and Michelle Napier and Kevin Rollin, Attorneys at Napier & Rollin.

SDIRC Superintendent, Dr. Rendell, stated, “We are so grateful for the support from these local businesses. The partnership with Community Credit Union provided us with the financial support to offer additional training opportunities for teachers and other staff members. The generosity of the Napier & Rollin firm enabled us to honor our school employees with the special recognition they deserve. I think it meant even more coming from members of their own community.”

Napier and Rollin

Napier & Rollin, PLLC, Attorneys at Law, began sponsoring a Teacher of the Year Dinner in 2015. For the 2017-2018 school year, the decision was made to expand the event to also include the excellent Employee of the Year recipients from around the District. Napier & Rollin has patronized various school-related projects over the years, but the Teacher of the Year/Employee of the Year (TOY/EOY) Dinner is its signature contribution for which it takes great pride. The focus of the event is to treat the hard-working Teacher and Employee of the Year recipients from around the District to an enjoyable evening. As the spouse of a teacher, Kevin M. Rollin knows all too well how hard these all-stars of education work, including on their off-time, and how their families must share them with the students and staff who depend on them to be the essential players of Indian River County’s public education. The Napier & Rollin TOY/EOY dinner is strictly about rewarding the best of the best in the Indian River County School District. It’s strictly about giving back to them. After the extraordinarily successful inclusion of the District’s employees of the year in this year’s most recent Napier & Rollin sponsored dinner, Kevin M. Rollin and Michelle D. Napier expressed a firm commitment to their future sponsorship of a night-out for the teacher and employee of the year couples. The event has become a reward to look forward to each year for everyone.

Michelle D. Napier is a member of the first graduating class of Sebastian River High School. Napier & Rollin have also contributed to various sports and fine arts school fundraisers in both Sebastian and Vero Beach. As a member of the Vero Beach Sunrise Rotary Club, Kevin M. Rollin participates in the Rotary Reader Program, which promotes literacy by reading to elementary children. As part of law-week, an annual event sponsored by the Indian River County Bar Association Lawyers Auxiliary, Kevin M. Rollin has served as a guest teacher at Sebastian Middle School on topics such as, equal protection, due process, and the fundamental principles of the American Republic.

Kevin Rollin, added, “We were flattered to be recognized for our contributions to education. We enjoy sponsoring an annual dinner event for all the teachers and employees of the year throughout the District. The pleasure of having the company of these exceptional people once a year is worth it alone. They are so grateful, sincere, and fun-loving that we look forward to the event all year. This recognition only reinforces our commitment.”
